If they decide his way, Clifford Vickery may have made about $300 in two hours Tuesday.
"Hey, that is like what lawyers make," said Vickery, who has spent most of his 66 years squeezing out a living on a dairy farm.
But Vickery will not know if he has gotten this windfall for at least a week. That is when a letter should arrive in his Dubois Lane mailbox from the town's Board of Assessment Review, telling Vickery whether the five- member board was persuaded by his argument Tuesday that the assessment on 25 acres of his 125-acre farm should be reduced by $500 an acre. He figures that will save about $300 in his annual tax bill.
He will not be the only one looking for a letter soon that could mean a couple of hundred dollars in tax savings. Vickery was one of 33 property …
