Fed: DVT situation similar to smoking cancer link MP

CANBERRA, Feb 6 AAP - Airlines withholding information on the so-called economy-class
syndrome was akin to tobacco companies denying the link between smoking and cancer, Federal
Labor MP Neil O'Keefe said today.

There were parallels between the current situation surrounding information on the potentially
fatal deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and tobacco companies' failure to publicly acknowledge
the link between smoking and cancer, Mr O'Keefe said.
